Product Introduction

Products Description

The RCDD series dry-type self-discharging electromagnetic iron separator is designed to automatically remove ferrous impurities from non-magnetic materials in powder or lump form. It features a fully sealed, self-cooling structure with internal components encapsulated in specialized electrical-grade resin. Characterized by deep magnetic penetration, strong attractive force, and resistance to dust, rain, and corrosion, it operates reliably even in extremely harsh environments.

Excitation Magnet Assembly

At the center of the unit is the excitation magnet assembly. This part generates the magnetic field that pulls ferrous contaminants out of the material flow. The coil is wound with high-temperature insulated copper wire and then fully encapsulated in epoxy resin under vacuum conditions. This sealing structure helps prevent dust, moisture, and conductive particles from entering the coil, which is especially important in mining, recycling, cement, and coal handling environments.

Automatic Iron Discharge Mechanism

Beneath or around the magnetic assembly runs the automatic iron discharge mechanism. A heavy-duty endless belt moves across the magnet surface, carrying captured iron toward the side of the unit. The belt is guided by idlers and driven by a geared motor, which provides enough torque to move the belt even when a considerable amount of iron has accumulated on its surface. This continuous movement means the separator does not rely on manual cleaning during normal operation.

Frame and Suspension Assembly

The frame and suspension assembly form the main supporting structure of the equipment. Usually fabricated from Q235B carbon steel, the frame is welded, inspected, and then treated with industrial paint to resist corrosion and abrasion. Lifting lugs are included for overhead installation, allowing the unit to be suspended above an existing belt conveyor without major structural changes to the conveyor itself.

Associated Electrical Control and Rectifier Cabinet

An associated electrical control and rectifier cabinet is also part of the system. Since the electromagnetic coil requires direct current excitation, the control cabinet converts the alternating current from the plant power supply into suitable DC power. It also provides switching, protection, and control functions, and in many cases can be connected to the plant's existing automation system.

Operating Principle

01

The magnetic circuit of the RCDD separator is not simply designed according to general dimensions. It is usually simulated and adjusted through magnetic field modeling to ensure that the effective magnetic force reaches as deep as possible into the material layer. This is particularly important in applications where the material is thick and iron pieces are buried below the surface.

When the control cabinet is switched on, current flows into the excitation coil, and a strong magnetic field is established around the magnetic core. This magnetic field penetrates downward into the material stream on the conveyor belt. As bulk material passes under the separator, ferrous objects are attracted upward and held against the cleaning belt.

The circulating discharge belt carries the iron pieces out of the effective magnetic field zone; Upon leaving the magnetic field, the iron pieces automatically drop into the collection bin, completing the continuous, automatic iron discharge process and allowing the production line to operate without interruption. The circulating discharge belt carries the iron pieces out of the effective magnetic field zone; Upon leaving the magnetic field, the iron pieces automatically drop into the collection bin, completing the continuous, automatic iron discharge process and allowing the production line to operate without interruption.

The material itself continues moving along the conveyor and eventually leaves the magnetic area. The attracted iron, however, is carried away by the moving discharge belt. When the iron reaches the outer edge of the magnetic field, it is no longer held by magnetic force and falls into a collection bin or chute.

FAQ

Q: Should I choose the RCDD electromagnetic separator or the RCYD permanent magnet separator?

A: Choose the RCDD if you need deeper magnetic penetration, especially for thick material layers and large tramp iron. Choose the RCYD if you want lower power consumption and a simpler installation without an external excitation control cabinet.

Q: Can you help with selection if I send my site parameters?

A: Yes. We recommend providing conveyor width, material layer thickness, belt speed, feed rate, and the types of iron contaminants expected. With these details, we can suggest a suitable model and magnetic specification.

Q: Can the equipment be adapted to our local voltage?

A: Yes. The control cabinet can be customized according to local voltage and frequency standards.

Q: Is on-site inspection possible before delivery?

A: Customers are welcome to visit our factory for inspection. If an on-site visit is not convenient, third-party inspection can also be arranged.

Q: What if the standard size does not fit our existing conveyor structure?

A: We can offer non-standard designs based on the available space, conveyor height, and installation conditions.
