Instructions for use of disc vacuum filters and their application in mine dewatering

Disc vacuum filters are widely used solid-liquid separation equipment for mineral processing, coal washing, and environmental protection. Taking the Sanxing electromagnetic ZPG series as an example, the filter disc is driven by a speed-regulating motor through a reducer and open gears, rotating at a uniform speed in the slurry tank. A pressure difference is created on both sides of the filter cloth by a vacuum pump, and the solid material is adsorbed into a filter cake. The filtrate is discharged through the filtrate pipe and the distribution head. After the filter cake is removed from the liquid surface, it enters the dewatering zone for drying. Finally, it is discharged by back-blowing air and scraper. The whole process is continuous and automatic.

How to choose the right disc vacuum filter?

Material Type:The standard ZPG type should be used for iron ore concentrates and non-ferrous metal concentrates; for non-metallic ores such as quartz sand and environmentally friendly dehydration conditions, the filter fan material and shaft end sealing form need to be checked in advance.

Processing Capacity:The ZPG series single-unit processing capacity covers 6-260 t/h. It is recommended to select the model with a margin of 1.1-1.2 times the dry ore volume of the slurry to avoid overflow under peak operating conditions.

Filtration Area:The corresponding filter disc diameters are 2100 / 3100 / 4100 mm, and the filtration area is 10-260 ㎡. Calculate the required production capacity from the back end, and do not choose the model based solely on the cheapest area.

The safest approach is to send representative mineral samples to the manufacturer for small-scale filtration tests, where Sanxing's electromagnetic engineers will verify the model, filter cloth specifications, and vacuum pump configuration, thus avoiding rework after on-site production.
