Working Principle Of An Electromagnetic Separator

Magnetic Field Generation: An electromagnetic separator contains an electromagnet. When powered, it generates a magnetic field. The strength and direction of the magnetic field can be adjusted by adjusting the current, thus adapting to the magnetic separation requirements of different materials.

Ore Pretreatment: The ore to be processed first undergoes pretreatment processes such as crushing and grinding to reduce its particle size and increase its surface area, which facilitates the separation of magnetic materials.

Ore Entry into the Magnetic Field: The pretreated ore is conveyed through a conveyor into the magnetic field of the electromagnetic separator.

Magnetic Material Separation: Under the influence of the magnetic field, magnetic materials are attracted by the magnetic force and move along the direction of the field. They are collected by the separator's magnetic drum, magnetic plates, or magnetic rollers. As these components rotate or move, the magnetic materials are carried out of the magnetic field, separating them from non-magnetic materials.

Non-Magnetic Material Discharge: Non-magnetic materials are not affected by the magnetic force and continue to move along the direction of the conveyor and are discharged from the magnetic field.
