Problems and Solutions of Wet Magnetic Separators

1. The reducer overheats.

The following reasons usually cause this situation:

 

• Insufficient oil or poor quality of the oil;

• Excessive wear of gears and worm gears, or poor meshing;

• Poor lubrication of bearings or severe wear.

 

2. Abnormal sounds are emitted when the equipment is running.

Obstacles may get stuck in the cylinder, causing it to stop rotating. The bottom box will vibrate.

If an object gets stuck in the bottom box or the magnetic blocks fall off, the cylinder will make a clicking sound. In severe cases, it may even scratch the cylinder casing. At this point, the machine should be immediately stopped, and maintenance and troubleshooting should be carried out.

 

3. The motor is overheating and making abnormal noises.

This is usually caused by the following reasons:

• Insufficient lubrication or severe wear of the bearings;

• Poor contact or broken connection of the switch lines, or single-phase operation;

4. The equipment is unable to drain water.

The wet magnetic separator drains water from the bottom. If there is no drainage, please first check the drainage valve. If the equipment is unable to drain water due to a malfunction of the drainage valve, then a new drainage valve needs to be replaced. When replacing the drainage valve, first loosen the tightening spring of each pipe, and then loosen the fixing screws at the bottom for replacement. Please find a drainage valve of the same model, specification and type for replacement, and then troubleshoot the problem. The drainage pipe may also be clogged, and it should be cleaned in time.

 

5. Water cannot enter the device.

Check if this end of the water inlet valve is blocked by dirt. If not, it indicates a problem with the circuit. Check if the water inlet valve is damaged. If not, it might be a fault or damage to the computer board. At this point, please replace the new water inlet valve.

 

6. The switches on the control panel of the wet magnetic separator have malfunctioned.

For instance, remove the water level selection button and check if it has failed due to poor contact. If so, we can replace or clean the button.

 

7. The wet magnetic separator is not performing well.

8. The equipment can be immersed in water but cannot be started.
First, it is necessary to confirm whether the wet magnetic separator has drained the water and whether the water volume has not reached the start-up requirement. Secondly, check if the water level switch is in good condition and whether the inability to start is caused by a malfunction of the water level control switch.
