Working principle

The slurry is fed into the machine's tank. The rotating magnetic disks of the permanent magnetic disk tailings recovery machine are partially submerged in the slurry. The powerful permanent magnets embedded in the disks attract and hold magnetic particles to their surface. As the disks rotate out of the slurry, the magnetic particles are lifted out. Upon passing the discharge zone where the magnetic field is weakest, the concentrated magnetic material is automatically scraped off by brushes or strips into a collection launder. The non-magnetic tailings overflow from the weir at the opposite end of the tank, now significantly depleted of magnetic content.

After iron ore undergoes concentrating operations, its primary components are concentrated in the concentrate. In some cases, secondary components or other metals are also recovered after comprehensive processing, resulting in a residual product with very low useful content, known as tailings. It should be noted that the tailings still contain a significant amount of useful iron. For example, a concentrator with a designed annual capacity of 6 million tons, with an ore grade of 30% and a concentrate grade of 66%, produces 2.2 million tons of iron concentrate annually and 3.8 million tons of tailings, of which approximately 380,000 tons contain iron. To fully utilize national resources, we have developed a multi-disc magnetic separator for recovering useful iron from tailings. This allows for recovery of up to 35% of the iron content. Because the tailings are from the upper reaches of the mine, their particle size is relatively small. After fine grinding and weak magnetic separation, we can recover at least 80,000 tons of qualified iron concentrate. Based on a minimum selling price of 150 yuan per ton, this could generate an annual output value of 12 million yuan, a 40% national profit rate, and an annual profit of 4.8 million yuan.
